EURIPEL W5 is a dual action product designed specifically to reduce permeability whilst improving water repellency of all types of concrete mixes, including structural concretes. EURIPEL W5 is based on selected raw materials and is manufactured under controlled conditions to give a consistent product. It is formulated from specially blended long chain carboxylic acids. EURIPEL W5 is manufactured under strict quality control procedures to meet the requirements of BS 5075, Part 1. When tested as specified in BS 1881, Part 122, water absorption is typically reduced by approximately 50%.
EURIPEL W5 is supplied ready for use and it should be added to concrete mixes during the mixing process, at the same time as the water. It should not be added directly to the cement. When used in wet concrete mixes, EURIPEL W5 will not entrain additional air, but it will be necessary to reduce the free water content to maintain constant workability and to maximize the permeability reduction potential. If the free water content is not reduced, workability of the concrete will be increased and a reduction in compressive strength will result. No extension of normal mixing time is necessary.
